South Florida Elevator Pricing Guide
Real, transparent cost ranges for elevator installation, modernization, and repair across Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach — and exactly what drives the final number. These are typical market ranges, not quotes; request a personalized estimate for your specific building.
Costs vary by project. Final pricing depends on your building, equipment, scope of work, and code requirements. Use the form below to request a written estimate for your specific project.
How project costs are determined
Residential / home elevator (new install)
2–4 stops. Driven by hoist-way construction, cab finish level, drive type (hydraulic vs. cable/MRL), and whether the shaft already exists.
Commercial hydraulic elevator (new install)
Low- to mid-rise buildings. Pricing scales with travel, capacity, code-required fire service, and site/permit complexity.
Commercial traction / MRL elevator (new install)
Mid- and high-rise. Final cost depends on rise, speed, machine type, and finishes.
Modernization (controls, fixtures, doors, cab)
Modernization scope and cost depend on the elevator, building, and work required.
Repair & service
Diagnostic visits, component repairs, and code-correction work are quoted per job. Maintenance contracts are billed monthly/annually.
What drives the final price
- Drive type — hydraulic is typically less expensive than traction/MRL for low-rise.
- Number of stops / total travel and required speed.
- Whether a code-compliant hoist-way and machine room already exist.
- Cab size, capacity, and interior finish level.
- Florida fire service, ADA, and current building-code requirements.
- Permitting, DBPR inspection coordination, and any required structural work.

Pricing FAQ
How much does it cost to install an elevator in South Florida?
Residential and commercial elevator installation costs vary with equipment, building conditions, project scope, and code requirements. Request a written estimate for your specific building.
Is it cheaper to modernize or replace an elevator?
Whether modernization or replacement is appropriate depends on the elevator's condition, building infrastructure, code requirements, and project scope. Request an assessment and compare written proposals.
Why is there such a wide price range?
Elevator pricing is project-specific. Drive type, travel distance, capacity, cab finishes, existing infrastructure, and Florida code requirements each move the number significantly. That's why we provide a written estimate rather than a single sticker price.
